Tommy joined American HealthCare, LLC in July 2007 as Regional Vice President of Operations and has over 38 years of experience in senior care services. Tommy started his career working at Richfield Retirement Community where he served in various capacities including Administrator and Vice President of Administration for 27 years. He has been a licensed Nursing Home Administrator since 1989. In 2010, he was promoted to Chief Operating Officer (COO) where he led the company to increased revenue growth and numerous National Quality Awards.

In 2012, Tommy was promoted to the position of President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO where he now leads a team of over 2,000 employees providing quality services in 16 nursing facilities across the Commonwealth of Virginia.  “It is my goal to build and lead a team of compassionate individuals with a family culture to provide quality services to the senior population”.  Under his leadership, American HealthCare continues record growth in revenue, expansions, acquisitions, and additional quality awards.

He has served on the Board of Directors and the Executive Board for the Virginia Health Care Association.  In 2014, he was appointed by Governor McAuliffe to serve on the Commonwealth of Virginia Board of Health.  In 2018, he was reappointed by Governor Ralph Northam to serve on the Commonwealth of Virginia Board of Health.

He has been a lifelong resident of Salem, Virginia and is a graduate of Roanoke College with a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration.  He has been married to his wife, Lori, for 25 years and a proud father of three children:  Karlyn, Anna and Eliza and he is a new grandfather to Brooks East. In his spare time, Tommy enjoys playing golf, tennis and spending time with his family and friends!
