D.A. “Woody” Brown Community Involvement Award

We are thrilled to announce that Heritage Hall Leesburg has been awarded third place in the prestigious 2024 D. A. “Woody” Brown Community Involvement Awards, recognizing our exceptional contributions during National Skilled Nursing Care Week (NSNCW) and the outstanding quality of our Facility Newsletter.

For over 30 years, the Virginia Health Care Association - Virginia Center for Assisted Living (VHCA-VCAL) has celebrated excellence in activity programs that truly engage, entertain, educate, and enrich the lives of those in our care. This award highlights the meaningful programming and events we host to support our seniors and individuals with disabilities, helping them lead their happiest and most fulfilling lives.

NSNCW, which begins annually on Mother’s Day, serves as a special time for residents, families, and caregivers to come together in celebration and connection. The 2024 theme, "Radiant Memories – A Tribute to the Golden Age of Radio," inspired a week full of vibrant activities at Heritage Hall Leesburg, including lively Zumba sessions, Gardening Day, Memory Sharing with delectable treats, a Roaring 20’s party, and culminating in our Radiant Memories Award Ceremony.

In addition to our programming, our Facility Newsletter has been recognized for its exceptional communication both within our long-term care community and beyond. The submission process required centers to present three different newsletter issues published between May 2023 and May 2024, judged on content, readability, creativity, special features, relevance, timeliness, and involvement from residents and staff alike.

We applaud the creative efforts and hard work that goes into developing excellent programing and events to enrich the lives of residents and promotes person-centered care. We are very proud of the unique efforts VHCA-VCAL members like Heritage Hall Leesburg make to engage their residents and patients every day.” said Keith Hare, President and CEO of VHCA-VCAL.

Thank you, #VHCA, for this incredible recognition. We are honored and motivated to continue making a difference in our community.
